Sara Newman, MA CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist working full-time in acute care at a large academic medical center in Dallas, TX. She is the lead SLP representative on the hospital’s multidisciplinary tracheostomy team and has presented on this topic at the state and national level. She completed her undergraduate degree at California State University, Northridge, and earned her graduate degree from George Washington University. She is the founder of the Donna M. Brelin SLP Memorial Scholarship and is a strong advocate for increasing access to the field of communication sciences and disorders by reducing or eliminating financial barriers through mentorship.
